How to divide the road roller?
Different types of road rollers are commonly called as follows, depending on their design and purpose:
Single Drum Roller:
Suitable for compacting asphalt and concrete.
Double Drum Roller:
Two drums can compact at the same time, suitable for compacting larger areas.
Vibratory Roller:
The drum has a vibration function, which can improve compaction efficiency and is suitable for compacting various soils and asphalt materials.
Static Roller:
Without vibration function, it relies on the weight of the machine for compaction.
Sheepfoot Roller:
The surface of the roller has protrusions similar to sheep’s feet, suitable for compacting soft soil.
Tire Roller:
Uses tires instead of rollers for compaction, suitable for final compaction of asphalt paving.
Combination Roller:
Usually has a vibrating drum in front and a tire in the back, suitable for compacting a variety of materials.
Lightweight Roller:
Small in size and light in weight, suitable for compaction work in small or narrow areas.
Heavy Roller:
Large in size and heavy in weight, suitable for compaction work in large projects and heavy loads.
Soil Compactor:
Specially used for compacting soil, usually with sheepsfoot or other specially designed rollers.
Asphalt Roller:
Specially used for compacting asphalt paving, can be vibrating or static.
Each type of roller has its specific application scenarios and advantages. Choosing the right roller can greatly improve construction efficiency and quality.
