What is XCMG?
XCMG is short for “Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group”, which was made in Xuzhou city, China, its original name was called “Huaxing iron factory”, and was assembled by some construction machinery factories in 1989 as XCMG group.
In 2005, due to the bad management, XCMG faced a big issue of fund crisis. Against this background, USA Carlyle Capital applied to buy XCMG with only US$375 million which was taken very low price. Many of the construction experts opposed this, and finally XCMG refused the price.
Afterwards, XCMG adopted different strategies, including strengthening technological innovation and management, and attracting foreign investment These measures helped XCMG successfully save itself and eventually became one of the top three companies in the global engineering machinery industry. In 2021, XCMG jumped to third place on the list of the world’s top 50 construction machinery companies, becoming the only Chinese company to enter the top three in the world. Now XCMG is controlled by Chinese state company, and leader in construction industry.
